Exceptional Support for Exceptional People

1:1 support for gifted, autistic, and ADHD people
(or those who think they might be)

Are you…

  • Suspecting you’re gifted, and you want to check it out with someone who knows giftedness, to see if you’re right, and figure out what to do about it?
  • Figuring out your giftedness, autism, and/or ADHD, and you want to get better at understanding and handling your magnificent, unruly mind?
  • Somewhere between suspecting and being confident you’re gifted/autistic/ADHD, and you want to work through some issues with someone who knows their stuff about neurodivergence AND working through issues?

About Me Who is Sue?

I’m a gifted, super highly sensitive, self-dx autistic/ADHD-brained 40-something, living in Cambridge, UK, with a child, a penchant for pancakes, and a garden.

I’ve trained my brain in physics (Cambridge University, no less), Buddhist approaches to psychology and meditation, environmental sciences (Dr Sue, thank you), education (PGCE – high school maths teaching), fundraising (why not?), and a whole heap of peopley things (details here).

I speak native English, acquired Dutch, very rusty French, and play piano and clarinet.

4 important things you need to know about intelligence

Let’s guess. Four important things about intelligence. IQ? Tests? Exam results? Beards? Nope, none of the above. Although these might be the first things that come to mind, the keys to understanding intelligence are nothing to do with IQ, tests or exam results. And beards certainly aren’t mandatory. Here’s my...

Intensity, intensity, intensity

“Oh my God, you’re just so intense!” “You’re too full on!” “Enough already, can’t you tone it down?!” “Take it easy, you’ll give yourself a heart attack!”   Recognise this? You probably have a lot of energy, and you channel it into things, intensely. You’ve always felt different to other...

Sensitive insensitive

Have you ever noticed how it’s very often the most insensitive people who are the most sensitive? How they can be insensitive to others feelings but are really sensitive themselves? Well it may not come as a surprise that the two go together. When you’re sensitive, there’s sometimes just too...

Using your emotional and intuitive guidance systems

Our deepest, highest self is who we are at our fullest, most magnificent, most energetic and fulfilled. And it’s the job of our emotional and intuitive guidance systems to keep us as closely aligned as possible with that deepest, highest self. Emotions shows us in each moment where we want...

For a long time, I saw my mind as an obstacle. An obstacle that got between me and friends. It hurt. Maybe it began when, in efforts to console and reassure me, my folks told me that the other girls at school were jealous that I was so bright, that’s...

We all know someone – it might even be us – who’s super-bright, knows all sorts of stuff, is fast to process information and create new solutions – in short, is fairly genius, but who is hopelessly lost when it comes to anything emotional. If somebody else is upset –...

It’s New Year resolutions time again… time to put on the thinking cap and figure out how you want to approach the 2015. But you know how most resolutions fall apart after a few weeks? It’s usually because it’s not the Real You in charge when you make them. Let...
